[Literature] Dickens, Charles Autograph Letter, signed
Gad's Hill Place, Higham by Rochester, Kent, Tuesday, December 19, 1865. One sheet folded to make four pages, 7 1/8 x 4 1/2 in. (sight) (181 x 114 mm). Autograph letter on Gad's Hill Place stationery, signed by Charles Dickens to a Mr. Hudson, informing him that he "will find me at my office, 26 Wellington Street, on Friday at 12, or on Saturday at the same hour." Creasing from original folds; dampstaining along bottom right side fold, and in top corner. With an 1871 facsimile edition of The Strange Gentleman... (see Eckel, p. 155). In mat and in frame, 13 5/8 x 17 in. (346 x 432 mm).
