Lot Description

A Viennese silver gilt and enamel horn on stand Karl Bank (active 1895-1924), Vienna, Austria, circa 1900

Allover decorated with hand-painted enamel Greek mythological scenes, the horn and stand also decorated with enameled silver gilt bands interspersed with foliate motifs and masques, the upper rim with a couple gem-set cabochons, the end of the horn capped with fox head, the horn affixed to oval base via a cast hippocamp, marked twice with maker's mark "KB," and marked a few times with either .800 standard mark, and regional assay office letter "A."
