Lot Description
A large English Aesthetic Movement oak wardrobe Attributed to Richard Norman Shaw (1831-1912) & William Eden Nesfield (1835-1888), retailed by Maple & Co. (est. 1841), London, England, circa 1870
In five parts, comprised of the base, center cabinet, two flanking cabinets, and cornice; accompanied by fourteen removable shelves; with bold, stylized iron hardware, the cornice with "scattered" carved rosettes of various forms, the center cabinet with two paneled doors, the side cabinets each with two paneled doors over four graduated drawers, paneled sides, the base on straight legs; bearing applied labels inscribed, "From Maple & Co./ Limited/ London & Paris."
