Together with the printed program of the July 25,1992 dedication of the Buffalo Soldier Monument at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, autographed by Colin L. Powell, a participant at the event, and a note from Powell, on Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff stationery, dated 26 October,1992 reading, "I appreciate your interest in the Buffalo Soldiers and am very proud to have been part of the ceremony dedicating this wonderful tribute to these fine soldiers."
