Lot Description

A finely-decorated Satsuma-type vase, Okamoto Ryozan 日本萨摩烧风格瓷瓶 亮山造 Meiji period ??

Decorated by Ryozan for the Yasuda company, the cylindrical neck above a spreading waist, tapering to an out-curved foot, the collar decorated with a series of figures during a kite festival, above a lush flowering garden, the base with two intricate figural scenes: Figures by a harbor under flowering cherries, and Figures in a boat, Fuji in the distance; above a border of flowing brocade draperies, underside signed Kyoto Ryozan and with the Yasuda mark.
