Eighth edition. 4to. 343, (i), cxcvi pp. Illustrated with engraved portrait frontispiece, engraved vignette title-page, and six engraved plates. Romantic fore-edge painting of two travellers at the Pass of Lennie, Grampian Mountains, Scotland. Full diced russia, stamped in gilt, rebacked with original spine laid down, extremities lightly worn, spine chipped and blistered; all edges gilt; marbled endpapers; abrasion on front paste-down from removed book-plate; dampstaining in upper gutter of prelims, foxing to same; scattered light dampstaining in upper and lower gutter of most text and plate leaves, scattered minor foxing to same; offsetting from plates onto text; small book-plate on front free endpaper.
