Mini-archive of 47 MS. documents relating to areas in and surrounding New Castle County, Delaware, comprising various early partial land surveys, indentures, pages from account ledgers, and other documents; of note is a contemporary MS. copy of the 1759 charter for Old Swedes Lutheran Church in Wilmington, Delaware, that granted the land on which Holy Trinity Church stood, to the ministers of the church, as well as two MS. documents signed by Caesar Augustus Rodney; other documents relate to early land surveyors, including Walt Wharton, Thomas Noxon, Jacob Taylor, Thomas Pierson, et al., as well as early settler families in the Delaware Valley, including the Vandevers, Stalcops, Pickerings, et al. Many documents worn, separated along original folds, dampstained, and repaired. Sold with all faults.
