The Hague: Petrum de Hondt, 1739. Second edition. Folio. Illustrated with an engraved vignette title-page, one engraved portrait of Rumphius, and 60 engraved plates. Rebound, circa 1900s, in three-quarter reverse tan calf, stamped in blind, over marbled paper-covered boards, spine ends chipped, boards rubbed; marbled edges; original endpapers bound in; prelims slightly toned and foxed, scattered chipping and short closed tears to edges of same; plates variously toned and foxed; index at rear lightly toned and foxed; pencil annotation in plate XV; ex-library with "Islington Literary & Scientific Society" ink stamp at numerous places in prelims, text, and plates; inscription on front blank gifting volume to Islington Society, dated 1833.
