[African-Americana] Vaux, Roberts Memoirs of the Lives of Benjamin Lay and Ralph Sandiford; two of the Earliest Public Advocates for the Emancipation of The Enslaved Africans.

Philadelphia: Solomon W. Conrad, 1815. First edition. 12mo. (vi), (xii), (13)-73 pp. Contemporary brown marbled sheep stamped in gilt with tan morocco spine label, some loss to spine ends, both hinges cracked and worn, front hinge particularly fragile, bookseller's ticket to front pastedown, frontispiece portrait roughly trimmed and tipped in. Presentation copy, inscribed on verso of first free leaf: "For / James Vaux / from his affectionate / nephew the Author."
