Illustrated with three folding maps bound in the first volume. Contemporary gilt-paneled straight-grain crimson morocco, gilt-scrolled inner panels with gilt foliate corners, gilt-decorated edges, spine compartments, and dentelles, all edges gilt, with dark green morocco spine labels and marbled endpapers; corners bumped, joints and spine ends slightly rubbed, maps lightly toned with minor offsetting and scattered foxing, and with a few closed tears. With the armorial book-plate of Hasted on front paste-downs and later book-plate of Mary Bryant Sprague on rear paste-downs in each volume.
