Georgian gold, ivory, and hair work mourning pendant late 18th century
Of navette form, with dissolved hair sepia painting depicting a mourner next to a tomb under willow tree, inscribed "Tho Lost to View to Memory Ever Dear", the tomb with monograms "T.E." and "A.E."; the outer edges engraved "IR Died April 11 1778 Aged 42" and "TE Died Sept...1784 Aged 48"; with woven palette work to obverse.
