Lot Description

Two gold and ivory mourning pins/pendants England or America, late 18th/early 19th century

The first, of circular form, painted with woman weeping beside urn initialed, "IB," on plinth dated, "1755-1791," the reverse set with hair, loop attachment; the second, of oval form, depicting shrouded woman lamenting beside covered urn supported by plinth inscribed, "Deep is the/ Sorrow/ genuine e/y Tear," the reverse set with hair, fitted with pin, loop attachment, both seemingly unmarked.
