Lot Description

Gold and ivory mourning bracelet England or America, second half 18th century

With two marquise-shaped miniatures; the first, painted with female figure mourning beside raised plinth bearing the initials, "E.M & I.C" on hairwork knoll and surmounted by covered urn; the second, with woman seated beside urn with birds on raised plinth inscribed, "SACRED/ TO/ FRIEND/ SHIP," the reverses engraved, "M. Feariss," joined with gold chain links, later clasp marked "12K."
