This is a double-sided, color lithographed folding fan having wood sticks and wood guards inscribed: "Recuerdo de Chicago [sic]" or, "Memories of Chicago." The recto leaf's large illustration provides a bird's-eye view of the vast fair grounds, its waterways, and numerous exhibition buildings. The verso side of the fan pictures people representing participating countries; Italy, England, Germany, France and Spain, in native dress, surrounding the American eagle, shield and welcoming female figure of Columbia.
