Kreisel, Franz, 1865-1926, Rumanian-born American violinist, concertmaster of the Boston Symphony, founder of the Kreisel Quartet, first head (1905-1926) of the Violin department of the Institute of Music (now Juliard), known to have met Gustav Mahler during 1908-9.
