1 vol. 24mo, old sheep-backed blue paper over wooden boards; rubbed and worn - most of the blue paper rubbed away. 82 p., including portrait of John Hancock - bottom of leaf trimmed away. Wood engraved illustrations. Some internal spotting and dampstaining. In custom old, rubbed, green morocco solander case. On wove paper, sold here w.a.f. as perhaps the facsimile re-print of 1843 [or 1844]. Includes the possible pencil ownership of Sally Wood, dated, ""Yarmouth/ 1808,"" on the front free endpaper recto; suggests the ownership of Sally Sayward Barrell Keating Wood, born York, Maine, 1759, died Kennebunk, Maine, 1854, the first American female gothic writer and Maine's first notable woman novelist.
