Lot Description

William and Mary style burl walnut and walnut writing desk circa 1700 and later

Surmounted by two short cross banded drawers flanked by shaped hinged compartments, the cross banded walnut fall front opening to reveal a tooled leather inset writing surface within painted border depicting figures before a castle, the arrangement of drawers of typical form, over two short and one long drawer and shaped apron centered by a drop finial, all raised on baluster turned legs united by a stretcher and terminating in bun feet.
