Lot Description
Important William and Mary marquetry inlaid walnut tall case clock circa 1710
The hood with molded rectangular top and fret carved frieze over glazed door flanked by turned three-quarter columns, the brass dial signed "Tho. Andrews London" with silvered chapter ring, Roman hours, Arabic minutes, subsidiary seconds and date aperture flanked by winged putti and crown spandrels to the corners; the case with long paneled door and glass roundel applied with "Wetherfield Collection of Clocks" label, raised on plinth base; the whole marquetry inlaid to show scrolling leaves, birds, angels, and a renaissance figure.
