Lot Description

George Jones majolica sardine dish and stand second half 19th century

Rectangular form, the cover molded with three overlapping sardines on a bed of seaweed, the dish with acanthus leaves on a turquoise ground, raised on conforming stand with mottled tortoiseshell reserve, the base with applied maker's mark further painted "1831".

W: 8 1/2, D: 7 3/4 in. (stand).
