Lot Description

A Chinese gilt bronze figure of Buddha Amitayus qianlong period, 18th century

finely cast seated in dhyanasana on a rectangular plinth, waisted foliate corners draped in front with a long cloth with a flower head at its center, fitted with a separate-boarded mandorla, the hands in dhyanamudra holding a missing elm bowl, and dressed in robes draped over the left shoulder leaving the right exposed and wearing a jeweled necklace. the face is cast with pensive expression beneath hair pulled up into a elaborate coiffure and fronted by a five-pointed floiate tiara.
