Lot Description
Pair Victorian silverplated revolving tureens martin, hall & co., sheffield, late 19th century
The floral-engraved revolving domed lid opening to a dish and pierced insert, the base draped with swags, on four floral encrusted legs headed by ram's masks and terminating in hoof feet. The reserves engraved with the mottos "Confido" surrounding the crest of a hand emerging from a ducal coronet and "Candor dat viribus alas" encircling a robin perched upon a mural crown, the crests probably for the Boyd-Rochfort family.
