Lot Description

Pair of twin-handled sterling silver covered vegetable warming dishes possibly joseph richardson, jr. (1752-1831), philadelphia, pa, 1811

Of rectangular form with gadrooned rims raised on four scroll feet, the lid with fluted loop handle, the base and lid engraved with Digby family crest: an ostrich holding a horsheshoe in its beak beneath the motto "Deo non fortuna," stamped "JR" and "1811" to underside of both the base and the liner.
