Four sixth-plate tintypes of Federal officers circa 1860
The first, depicting bearded infantry officer wearing kepi with hunting horn insignia and jacket with probable lieutenant bars in period, embossed case with nonpareil, embossed brass mat; the second, of seated officer with gilt accents in period, embossed case with oval, embossed brass mat and interior velvet stamped, "S.A. Smith Doylestownp"; the third and fourth, of seated officer holding sword and seated officer with hand tucked into coat, respectively; both in period, embossed cases with oval, embossed brass mats.
