Lot Description

Tintype of a Federal Corporal cavalryman circa 1860

Quarter-plate in period, double-hooked, brown case with gilt border and embossed, flower motif with double-elliptical, embossed brass mat. The bearded Corporal wears a feathered, slouch hat and stands with his saber; his partially-open frock coat exposes his beltplate.
