18 karat yellow gold snake armlet london, ca. 1989

Exaggerated double snake motif centering on an oval pink tourmaline cabochon. Displaying maker's hallmark LDV, and origin hallmarkings. Note: This piece is based on a fourth-third century Greek design, and can be seen in Marie-Louise d'Orange Mastai's book 'The Smithsonian Illustrated Library of Antiques: Jewelry' on page 28, plate 15.
