[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. 36 sixth plate daguerreotypes featuring men of varying ages.
Studio portrait of a haughty young gentleman. (Tarnishing and clouding to plate, spotting to mat; resealed.) Housed in a leatherette case with velvet pad marked for "Hesler's Metropolitan Gallery, Laselle St Chicago." -- Portrait of an older gentleman turned partly to the side, identified as political economist "W MacTwaine[?]" on inked paper label affixed to glass. (Heavy tarnishing, weeping, residue, and fading to image, no preserver.) Housed in a half leatherette case. -- A pair of studio portraits housed together in the same case, one of an elderly gentleman identified as Samuel Watson, the other of a young man identified as Francis M. Bardwell. (Tarnishing to edges, spotting.) Housed together in a Union case with inked paper identification labels affixed to glass. -- And 32 others. Some without cases. Conditions vary. -- Together, 36 sixth plate daguerreotypes of men.
