[EARLY PHOTOG]. 17 cased images of husbands and wives, incl. work by SILAS SELLECK, San Francisco.
Quarter plate ambrotype portrait of an older couple, the woman having some curled strands hanging down on either side of her face, the man holding a pair of glasses on his leg. (Very minor imperfections, clear and crisp image; unsealed.) Housed in a figural Union case, Capture of Major Andre [Berg 1-22] (chipping, minor misalignment). Mat stamped "SILAS SELLECK, SAN [FRANCISC]O." -- Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a couple. (Significant tarnishing around edges, spotting to mat; original seals.) Housed in a leatherette case with velvet pad stamped "REED & HUMPHREY ARTISTS. WHIG BUILDING QUINCY ILL." -- And 15 others, including a half plate ambrotype, a quarter plate daguerreotype, 2 quarter plate ambrotypes, 4 sixth plate daguerreotypes, a sixth plate ambrotype, and 6 sixth plate tintypes. Some without cases. Conditions vary. -- Together, 17 daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, and tintypes of husbands and wives.
