[WORLD WAR II]. Group incl. signatures of CMOH recipient Gen. James H. DOOLITTLE.


Small group of items associated with Major General James "Jimmy" H. Doolittle, leader of the "Doolittle Raid" on Japan, comprising: clipped magazine cover featuring a close-up sketch of Doolittle signed ("J.H. Doolittle"); cover of Liberty magazine, 1 April 1944, featuring color bust portrait of Doolittle signed ("J.H. Doolittle") and accompanying article "General Doolittle, Flyer's Flyer"; clipped article "Recovering the Pearson Plane," Aviation magazine, 15 August 1921, with 2nd page having note attached and signed at bottom "To Harry Block Jr: / The above is roughly as I remember the occurence [sic]. J.H. Doolittle."

Doolittle signatures accompanied by approx. 8 x 10 in. black and white photograph showing Doolittle in civilian clothing and a newspaper clipping relating to Doolittle from The Washington Post, 30 April 1978.
