Lot Description
*Colt Theodore Roosevelt Commemorative Single Action Army with Factory Display Case and original shipping box
.44-40. 7.5" barrel. SN: TRC171. Blued and color casehardened finish, smooth faux ivory one-piece grip. Single action solid black powder frame revolver with loading gate and fluted six-chambered cylinder and bullseye ejector rod head. Revolver is marked with early style Colt "Italicized" one-line Hartford address on the barrel and the three-date in three-line patent information on the lower left of the frame. The top of the gripstrap has a gold TR monogram. The revolver is further enhanced with factory "B" flowing New York style Arabesque scroll engraving on the rear half of the barrel and between the cylinder chambers. The revolver includes its original Colt factory wood display box with burgundy crushed velvet lined form-fitting interior, the original wood grain revolver box with detached, but correct end label, factory paperwork and factory shipping box which both the items fit in. Only 500 of these guns, serial numbered TRC-001 to TRC-500, were produced in 1984. The MSRP was $1,695 at that time, roughly $5,000 adjusted for inflation.
