International Harvester U.S. M1 Garand
Korean War
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 4530773. Parkerized metal finish overall set in a Walnut semi-pistol grip stock and mounting T105 pattern adjustable rear aperture and partially hooded front blade sights. Gas operated long stroke piston driven semi-automatic rifle fed by an internal box magazine charged with en bloc clips. Serial number indicates the rifle was completed in 1953. Receiver is marked U.S. RIFLE/CAL. .30M1/INTERNATIONAL/HARVESTER above the serial number. Right barrel shows a maker marking LMR for manufacture by the Line Material Company, the barrel maker for M1 Garand rifles built by International Harvester. Date marking of 6 53, indicating the barrel was made in June of 1953, coincides with the production date of the receiver. The operating rod, bolt, trigger housing, safety flag, and hammer show IHC markings indicating they were built by International Harvester. Stock channel is numbered 2984 with a Circle P mark to the wrist. Rifle shows a muzzle and throat erosion readings of between one and two.
