** U.S. Springfield Model 1903 Rock Island Arsenal Rebuild
World War II
.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 1535257. Grey parkerized finish overall with black oxide finish to bolt. Walnut "S" stock has a plain straight grip and forearm, with humpback handguard and grasping grooves. Bolt action rifle with an adjustable folding ladder notch rear sight and blade front sight. Item features an internal box magazine, triple stacking sling swivels, bayonet lug forend, and a trapdoor buttplate void of contents. Markings include U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903/1535257 to receiver, and what appears to be an erred SA/{flaming bomb}/12 41- marking to top of barrel behind front sight. Hyphen appears to be stamped after the 41 date rather than before. Stock is marked with a boxed RIA/FK Rock Island Arsenal Frack Krack rebuild inspector cartouche, another faint obscured boxed cartouche, and wrist marked with circle P proof.
