A Chinese Carved Tielimu and Lacquered Wood 'Dragon' Covered Box
Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)

清 鐵力木刻雙龍捧壽黑漆描金海棠式捧盒
the floriform box finely carved to the cover depicting a pair of writhing dragons flanking a central shou medallion amongst auspicious clouds, the sides carved in relief with various shaped panels, two keyfret bands along the rims, the interior lacquered black with gilt highlighted floral sprigs.
Length 14 in., 35.6 cm.
