A Jonathan Fenton Cobalt Decorated Stoneware 'Fish' Jug
Dorset, Vermont, Circa 1805
with heavily tooled neck and shoulder, incised maker's mark, and impressed fish.
Height 11 3/4 inches.
Fenton was more than likely the mentor of Solomon Purdy, a fellow potter who emigrated to Ohio in 1818-1820.
