Lot Description
**Early Smith & Wesson Model 39 Alloy Frame (Pre-39)
9mm Para. 4" barrel length. SN: 1815. Black anodized frame with the remaining metal parts blued, polished breech face, and mounting Smith & Wesson medallion checkered walnut grips. Short-recoil operated DA/SA autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Frame is devoid of the model marking applied to later Model 39 pistols, with just the serial on the left frame and trade mark to the right. Slide markings include SMITH & WESSON to the left followed by the four line address mark. Right slide is marked PAT'S PENDING. Item mounts adjustable rear notch and matted front ramp sights. Comes with one magazine. One of the first batch of Smith & Wesson Model 39 pattern pistols to leave the factory, the first batch serial numbers range from 1001 to 2600. Though the first manufactured Model 39s possessed steel frames, the alloy frame versions were the first to ship.
