Lot Description
Contemporary Flintlock Jaeger Rifle by John B. Derrick (American, b.1936)
.40 caliber. 31" octagonal barrel length. SN: NSN. Browned metal finish. Bastogne walnut stock has rococo style carved grip and incised line to forearm. Flintlock rifle with two leaf folding notch rear sight and brass blade front sight. Lock is early Germanic according to consignor. Item features various carved elk antler stock fittings overall depicting hunting scenes, including a boar killing hunter on butt and hunting party scenes to both sides of forearm. Item also features a silver lined patchbox with enclosed cleaning rod attachment. Made around April 2005.
