Mainbocher black wool & mohair sequined dress coat French, late 1930s
Fitted bodice with small rounded collar, full sleeves tapering at the wrist with gored cuffs, falling to the ankle in a figure-sweeping, fluted silhouette. Bodice front covered in unusual flat black and pewter colored paillettes in diagonal alternating stripes, and buttoning to the knee with fabric-covered buttons. Labeled "MAINBOCHER / 12 AVENUE GEORGE V" Size 0/2.
