A Chinese Carved Zitan Day Bed, Luohanchuang
Late Qing/Republic Period
晚清/民國 廣作紫檀屏羅漢床
the rectangular back panel divided into four sections each carved in relief with a cartouche enclosing flowering jasmine, begonia, peony and magnolia, the sides carved with prunus blossoms topped with wide armrests, the single-paneled seat above a shaped apron and frieze carved to show large ruyi-heads enclosing bogu motif, auspicious objects and floral sprigs, all supported on square section legs ending in hoof feet; together with a carved hardwood kang table.
Length 74 x height 27 x depth 23 1/2 in., 188 x 68.5 x 60 cm.
