Visible 22 5/8 x 18 5/8 in. (paper dimpled, with occasional spotting, toning); framed to 20 x 24 in. (not examined out of frame). Signed in secretarial hand ("John F. Kennedy"). Countersigned by Dean Rusk as Secretary of State. Secretary of State seal affixed to lower left.
Document appoints Charles B. Wilkinson of Oklahoma Special Consultant to the President on Physical Fitness.
Charles Burnham "Bud" Wilkinson (1916-1994) was a renowned football coach best remembered for his tenure as head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners, leading them to 3 national championships (1950, 1955, & 1956) as well as the NFL St. Louis Cardinals for 2 seasons.
