Lot Description
[WILD WEST SHOWS]. ELLIOTT & FRY, photographers. Indian Warriors and Tepees, Buffalo Bill's Wild West. London, ca 1887.
6 1/4 x 3 1/2 in. cabinet photograph on cardstock mount (toning, spotting, and soiling throughout; light edge and corner wear to mount). Title and photographer's imprint on mount recto. Photographer's pictorial imprint to verso. A group of Native Americans, including Red Shirt and Little Bull, are featured standing in front of tipis wearing traditional regalia.
Buffalo Bill took his show to London in 1887, with Queen Victoria attending the performance on 11 May.
