Lot Description
HUFFMAN, L.A. (1854-1931), photographer. Sioux Chief Spotted Eagle's Hostile Village Tongue River Valley Montana Territory, Nov. 1874.
14 x 19 in. (sight) warm-toned, hand-colored silver gelatin photograph, matted and framed, 21 1/2 x 26 1/2 in. (very good condition, unexamined outside frame). Signed, dated, and titled by L.A. Huffman in the lower margin, printed from the original negative, early 20th century.
The Spotted Eagle Village was one of the last leather lodge villages encountered on the Yellowstone.
This lot is located in Cincinnati.
