Lot Description
This coat is from Karl Lagerfeld's final collection for Chanel and was look number 62 in the runway presentation.
After four decades at Chanel, Lagerfeld earned a legacy as a creative force that reinvigorated the heritage label, infusing it with postmodern playfulness while honoring its roots. Equally versed in the languages of popular culture and the craft and traditions of couture, a combination described as ‘high fashion and high camp’, Lagerfeld’s reinvention of the brand and marketing savvy created a voracious appetite among young buyers, sealing the fate of the iconic double CC logo into this century’s visual lexicon.
Ivory silk satin and wool coat trimmed with clear and gold beads. The coat is cut with a wide notched lapel, long cuffed sleeves, four flapped pockets on the front, and a center front that hangs open with no closures. The coat retains the retail labels listing the price at $13,850.00.
