Lot 316
Lot Description
This vest is from Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel's "Pre-Fall" 2019 "Métiers d’Art Collection".
After four decades at Chanel, Lagerfeld earned a legacy as a creative force that reinvigorated the heritage label, infusing it with postmodern playfulness while honoring its roots. Equally versed in the languages of popular culture and the craft and traditions of couture, a combination described as ‘high fashion and high camp’, Lagerfeld’s reinvention of the brand and marketing savvy created a voracious appetite among young buyers, sealing the fate of the iconic double CC logo into this century’s visual lexicon.
Sleeveless vest made of a fancy weave in gold, black, and pink. The vest is closed down the center front with gold-tone buttons featuring an owl with rhinestone eyes and the CC logo. The vest is further finished with a self-fabric belt trimmed with "rings" in silver-tone with one set also studded with faux pearls. The ends of the belt are finished with tassles of yarn from the fabric. The vest is underlined in a peach/pink sheer silk.
