Lot 271
Lot Description
After four decades at Chanel, Lagerfeld earned a legacy as a creative force that reinvigorated the heritage label, infusing it with postmodern playfulness while honoring its roots. Equally versed in the languages of popular culture and the craft and traditions of couture, a combination described as ‘high fashion and high camp’, Lagerfeld’s reinvention of the brand and marketing savvy created a voracious appetite among young buyers, sealing the fate of the iconic double CC logo into this century’s visual lexicon.
Purple and black iridescent silk taffeta trench coat with a wide notched lapel, long sleeves with a buttoned cuff, zippered pocket over each hip, and center front double-breasted button closure. The center back hem of the coat features a buttoned pleat with CC logo buttons. The coat comes with a self-fabric buckled belt and is lined with purple silk printed with "CHANEL" in white. The buttons are black with a raised gold-tone CC logo in the center.
