In 17th C. style, the cylindrical ivory body carved with a continuous scene of Classical warriors and captives, the the domed hinged lid chased with scroll reserves of fruit and putti masks centering a carved ivory finial of a figure of a warrior, the hinge continuing to a cast and chased scroll handle ending above a spreading foot chased with connected oval reserves between leafage tips and enclosed by a plain rim. With untraced marks under base. Damage and losses to ivory finial, dents to lid and foot.H: 8 in.
