TWO SILVER CREAM JUGS

The first, Charles Chesterman, London 1788, of helmet form with a strap handle and on a spreading foot and square plinth base, bright-cut engraved with an oval reserve with wrigglework ribbons above, the second, an unmarked American example, 19th C., of similar form with a beaded border, the tapering body and strap handle bright-cut engraved with swags and an initialled oval reserve, on a molded spreading circular foot. First with repair to rim, initial removed from reserve. H. of first: 5-1/2, h. of second: 6-1/2 in.; total wt.: 7.5 oz.
