Lot Description

[TRAVEL] -- [MEXICO]. Pemex Travel Club collection, ca late 1930s.


A group of 9 items associated with the Pemex Travel Club and identified to Miss Ann Carman a resident of 628 Baldwin Ave., Niles, Ohio. The collection includes: Pemex Travel Club, Bulletin No. 103-A, 20 June 1939; "Driving Down to Mexico," a brochure lighlighting tourist destinations; 2 maps, a "Plan of the Heart of Mexico City" (1938) and "A Trip to Mexico" highlighting a road route from San Antonio, Texas, to Mexico and the Laredo-Mexico City Road; a handbill displaying "Translation of Mexican Road Signs"; and informational brochure published by Wagons-Lits-Cook travel service "How to See Mexico City and its Surroundings," November 1938 Edition; a Pemex Travel Club metal plaque; a Pemex Travel Club Membership card for "Miss Ann Carman" issued 7-26-1939; and a Pemex Travel Club sticker.

The 1940 US Federal Census locates "Anna Carman" (1912-1993) at 628 Baldwin Street in Niles, Ohio. She is identified at that time as a single, caucasian woman working as a secretary in an office setting. Ann Carmen married Anthony Gilbert Frasca in 1947.
