ADAMS, John Quincy (1767-1848). Two documents signed ("J. Q. Adams"), as President.
Partly-printed land grant signed as President ("J.Q. Adams"). Washington, D.C., 10 June 1826. Countersigned by George Graham ("Geo. Graham"), Commissioner of the General Land Office. 1p, 15 1/2 x 9 3/4 in., on vellum with paper seal (creasing, light brown staining, scattered spotting, later pen markings on verso). Certificate No. 615. A land grant of 80 acres to Jesse Martindale of Wayne County, Indiana, registered in the Land Office at Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jesse Martindale (1798-1873) and Ezekiel Bradbury (1803-1872) both of Wayne County, Indiana, are granted lands according to the provisions of the Land Grant of 1820, an important piece of Federal legislation that helped stimulate settlement of the Northwest Territory.
