Lot Description

A Navy Blue Ground Cut Velvet, Embroidered Silk and Fur-Lined Lady's Robe
19TH CENTURY

清晚期 藍漳绒牡丹紋黄鼠皮裏女大氅
centrally organized with open side vents and toggle closure bordered with black satin trim embroidered with blue flowers and gilt scrolls running continuously across the hem, further detailed with a narrow ribbon outline against the richly toned fabric cut with a repeating pattern of peonies and bats. The wide cuffs of golden yellow cut with 'double happiness' characters against  botanical ground bordered with a narrowed trim as the hem; the whole lined with tawny fitch pelts extending at the collar as a hood. 
Length from collar to hem 39 1/2 x width across chest 25 1/2 in., 100 x 65 cm.
