Mrs. Gutfreund purchased this 1860s wrapper at auction and wore it as a hostess dress for a party at her home.
This wrapper or house coat is made of a printed material in a paisley pattern in light green, blue, red and white. The center front opens with worked buttons in silk thread and the garment is lined with green silk.
