Framed: 17 x 20 3/4 in.
Minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is not lined, although the backing board is glued to the stretcher and cannot be removed currently; very slight buckling to the lower right and left corners; very faint craquelures forming in the upper center, within the fireplace, only visible under raking light; instances of very minor scattered craquelures, mostly in the white pigments; a pinpoint thinning of the paint in the center left, directly below the woman's left sleeve, which causes the canvas weave to be visible; one small spot of possible inpainting in the upper center. Under UV light: the aforementioned spot of possible inpainting fluoresces; additional strokes in the fireplace mantel and a few in the bookcase in the upper left fluoresce, but these may be inherent to the pigment, and not inpainting.
